Question
My child has been diagnosed with nutritional iron-deficiency anemia, which was not detected in previous checks. I would like to inquire about the treatment and medication usage.
Answer
After the child’s diagnosis of nutritional iron-deficiency anemia, iron supplements should be used for treatment, such as ferrous sulfate or ferrous gluconate. The previously taken Pudilan oral liquid may have been used for inflammation but was not targeted at anemia. During treatment, blood hemoglobin levels should be regularly monitored, and iron supplements should be continued for 6-8 weeks after recovery to replenish iron reserves. It is recommended to take the iron supplements between meals and to accompany them with vitamin C to enhance absorption.
