It is currently impossible to confirm the cause of the intellectual disability in both parties, therefore, the risk for the child cannot be confirmed either. It is recommended to conduct a thorough karyotype examination and perform an amniocentesis during the mid-pregnancy period. Even if both tests are normal, it cannot be ruled out that the child may still have an intellectual disability risk.
