Question
What are the causes of pediatric tic disorders?
Answer
Pediatric tic disorders are mainly caused by an imbalance of neurotransmitters in the brain. Children with tic disorders often exhibit hyperactivity, poor self-control, inattention, and impulsive and capricious behaviors; they frequently perform actions such as squinting eyebrows, blinking eyes, shaking heads, pouting lips, shrugging shoulders, and twisting necks. It is advised that parents not panic and that treatment should be initiated as early as possible for the child’s recovery. It is recommended that children be given more fruits and vegetables in their daily diet and avoid spicy and irritating foods.
