Question

What are the symptoms of Down syndrome?

Answer

Children with Down syndrome usually suffer from congenital moderate intellectual disability. Generally, infants show severe developmental delays in intellectual growth, along with unique facial and physical deformities such as a small head, flattened occiput, thick neck, narrow eye fissures, slanting eyes, deep inner canthus, wide eye spacing, saddle nose, mouth often half-open, tongue often sticking out, short and thick fingers. They may also have broken palm prints, curved little fingers, and 50% of them may have congenital heart disease, digestive tract malformations, leukemia, and other conditions.
