Question
How to Treat Short Neck Deformity?
Answer
Short neck deformity is caused by the fusion of two or more cervical vertebrae, leading to symptoms such as a shortened neck and limited movement of the head and neck. If there are no symptoms of nerve compression, conservative treatment can be initially adopted, including skull traction or occipital-mandibular band traction. After symptoms resolve, fixation with a cervical-thoracic cast is then provided.
