Question
Can children with facial palsy undergo electrical therapy?
Answer
Patients with facial palsy can undergo rehabilitation training. Additionally, patients should avoid using cold water to wash their faces, prevent direct wind exposure, pay attention to weather changes, and dress warmly in time to prevent colds. Treatment can be done through finger pushing and pulling. The patient should close their eyes and use the pad of the thumb and index finger to gently pull from the inside out along the lower eyelid skin, then from outside in. After most of the facial expression muscles have recovered, the upper eyelid may still not close completely. Massaging in this way can help avoid or alleviate the recovery of eyelid spasms.
