Question
What are the factors of plagiocephaly?
Answer
The causes of plagiocephaly may include sleep position, use of a pacifier, birth canal compression, poor skull development, and congenital skull deformities. It is suggested that most infants’ heads will automatically correct as they grow older. Parents can consciously change the baby’s sleeping direction, switch breastfeeding arm positions, and let the baby play on their belly to help alter the pressure points on the head.
