Question
A reader inquires, their friend has recently given birth and the baby is just one month old. They noticed that the baby’s head appears larger and want to know if this is normal.
Answer
The doctor responds that if the baby’s head circumference is 9.9 centimeters, it is slightly on the larger side. Long-term use of low-protein formula milk may lead to this condition, but such diseases typically occur in infants under six months of age. In most cases, mild head enlargement will resolve itself around the age of two. If there are no other symptoms and imaging tests show only slight enlargement, there is no need to worry excessively.
