Question
What causes pediatric hepatoblastoma? This is really bothering me? Seeking a doctor’s answer, I am very grateful!
Answer
The possible causes of pediatric hepatoblastoma are not well understood. However, it is generally believed to be an embryonal tumor. It may be due to abnormal proliferation and differentiation of liver cells during embryonic development, with immature liver embryonic tissue still present in the fetal or neonatal liver. These abnormal tissues continuously proliferate, forming immature tissue masses, which may transform into malignant blastomas. The pathological process of malignant tumors may occur in the late fetal stage and persist until adulthood. Hepatoblastoma is often a solid mass with single nodules or lobular connections within the liver, commonly causing deformation or displacement of liver lobes.
