Answer
The normal range for neonatal jaundice index is: within 2-5 days after birth, full-term infants should disappear within 14 days, premature infants within 4 weeks, with full-term infants’ serum bilirubin at 205mol/L and premature infants at 257mmol/L. Usually, the results can be obtained the same day. In case of hemolytic jaundice, treatment should be administered as soon as possible. It is recommended to drink more water and expose the baby to more sunlight.
