Question

My nephew was born with symptoms of newborn jaundice and was taken directly to the neonatal ward by the nurse before I could even hold him. His jaundice was relieved through phototherapy, and he spent several days being treated in the neonatal ward. What are the symptoms of newborn jaundice that exceed the normal level?

Answer

The most obvious symptom of newborn jaundice is yellowing of the skin and eyes, along with other types of jaundice such as breastmilk jaundice, bedding hemolysis washing, obstructive jaundice, and hepatocellular jaundice, which may require further examination and treatment to determine the cause of the disease and to provide immediate treatment. Typically, a baby’s jaundice will resolve within 15 days after birth. It is recommended that you pay attention to your baby’s changes; if it is pathological jaundice, timely blue light treatment can be administered in the hospital.
