Question

My baby doesn’t like to sleep; sometimes they wake up from their noon nap and don’t go back to sleep in the afternoon; and if I hold them to fall asleep, they’ll wake up as soon as I put them in bed. For parents caring for their children alone, such situations can be troublesome. Are there any methods to make the baby more fond of sleeping?

Answer

Not all children need a nap during the day; this requirement is more in line with social habits. For some children, not taking a nap does not affect their growth and development. As long as the quality of the child’s sleep is good, it will not have a significant impact on the secretion of growth hormones, so parents do not need to force their children to take a nap. Of course, there are also some children who have a lower sleep requirement from an early age, possibly only needing eight or nine hours of sleep. In such cases, there is no need to force the child to take a nap.
