Question

Doctor, can you explain what causes joint sounds? How long does it usually take for this condition to return to normal? Please provide some advice.

Answer

During infancy, due to the relatively weak tendons, shallow joint sockets, and loose tendons around the joints, as well as softer bone tissue, the ends of long bones have cartilage. When the joints move, they may produce a sound similar to a ‘pop’. As children grow older, their tendons become increasingly firm and muscles become more developed, and this joint popping sound will gradually disappear. Even in adults, if joint movement is abnormal, popping sounds may occur, just like the clear popping sound that might be heard when squeezing a finger joint. If there are no accompanying symptoms, this is completely a normal occurrence.
