Question
Will not bathing affect the health of a newborn? This situation has been ongoing for some time, and I haven’t dared to administer medication. I am seeking medical advice.
Answer
Hello, as newborns have a vigorous metabolism, they should be bathed regularly. The suitable room temperature for newborn bathing should be above 23 degrees, ideally 25 degrees. It is recommended to use a basin bath and the water temperature should be tested with the adult’s elbow to ensure it is not too hot. Before bathing, prepare a large bath towel. Once the newborn is finished, immediately wrap them in the towel to ensure they stay warm while drying off. If conditions permit, it can be bathed every three days or so; if conditions are limited, bathing can be done once a week.
