Question
Is there a treatment method for intravascular hemolysis? How long does the treatment process take to show effects?
Answer
Intravascular hemolysis refers to the phenomenon where immature red blood cells are destroyed in the bone marrow before they mature and are released into the peripheral blood. This type of anemia is commonly seen in megaloblastic anemia and myelopathic anemia. Although theoretically treatable, current medical levels are unable to cure it. Hemolytic anemia generally refers to the rapid and excessive destruction of red blood cells, leading to insufficient bone marrow hematopoietic function and resulting in anemia. Generally speaking, when the survival time of red blood cells shortens to less than 15 to 20 days, or when the bone marrow hematopoietic function is suppressed, or both, anemia occurs.
