Question
At what age is ejaculation considered normal? Our child has been experiencing this for some time, and as parents, we are quite concerned. We hope the doctor can give us some advice.
Answer
It is difficult to estimate by age, as there are individual differences. Generally, in the age of puberty, ejaculation during non-coital activities is a common normal physiological phenomenon among adolescents, with about 80% of unmarried young people having experienced this. Ejaculation that occurs during sleep is known as nocturnal emission, while ejaculation that occurs in a conscious state is called seminal emission. The frequency of ejaculation varies greatly; for a normal unmarried male, monthly ejaculation can reach 2-8 times, which is not considered abnormal.
