Question

When a baby shows signs of slow growth and development, parents may feel concerned. Doctors, what factors might lead to this condition in babies, and could you provide some corresponding advice?

Answer

If a baby exhibits symptoms such as restlessness, disobedience, frequent crying, or temperamental behavior; poor sleep quality, such as difficulty falling asleep, night terrors, early waking, and crying upon waking; as well as excessive sweating unrelated to the climate, these may be signs of calcium deficiency. In this case, it is recommended to supplement the baby’s calcium intake. This can be done by incorporating foods such as eggs, fish, meat floss, cakes, lean meat, vegetables, and fruits into their diet. These foods should be gradually introduced and the intake should be increased in small increments until an appropriate amount is reached.
