Question
Hello, doctor, why do children cry during their sleep? Are there any methods to improve this situation?
Answer
If the child has no other discomfort, most instances of waking up at night are likely habitual. If attention or feeding is given immediately each time the child wakes up, it may create a vicious cycle. It is recommended that when the child wakes up at night (in a drowsy state), do not immediately pick them up or amuse them to excite them; instead, gently pat and try to soothe them back to sleep. Generally speaking, if infants are in a drowsy state, they will gradually fall back asleep.
