Question
My child’s Immunoglobulin E (IgE) level is 250. Is this value normal? I am very concerned because my child has been experiencing these symptoms and has had some tests done, and I hope the doctor can help us.
Answer
For patients with hepatitis B, if the globulin level exceeds 35.0g/l, it indicates liver damage, which may lead to an imbalance in the white to globulin ratio and requires special attention and timely treatment. Immunoglobulins (Ig) refer to globulins that have antibody (Ab) activity or a chemical structure similar to antibody molecules. Immunoglobulins are composed of two identical light chains and two identical heavy chains linked by interchain disulfide bonds to form a tetrapeptide chain structure. Immunoglobulins are classified into five types, namely immunoglobulin G (IgG), immunoglobulin A (IgA), immunoglobulin M (IgM), immunoglobulin D (IgD), and immunoglobulin E (IgE).
