Question
My child is 1.5 years old and has a bit of strabismus. What should I do if my child has a mild case of strabismus?
Answer
When a child has a mild case of strabismus, older children can usually correct this issue. Generally, children around 5 to 6 years old are capable of doing so. For such young children, my knowledge is limited. If the child’s strabismus is caused by internal skin covering, the problem may become less noticeable as the child grows. However, if the degree of esotropia is too obvious, cosmetic surgery may need to be considered. Overall, the symptoms of strabismus can be relieved.
