Question
My child often exhibits symptoms such as inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and learning difficulties. I would like to know about the treatment interventions for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder?
Answer
For the treatment of ADHD, sensory integration training is a primary step. Currently, it is believed that ADHD in children is a series of behavioral issues caused by an inability to correctly control external stimuli and respond accordingly. The function of processing external stimuli in humans is closely related to the function of the limbic system and the midbrain. Therefore, by providing appropriate stimulation and coordinated motor training between the ages of 0 to 12, it can promote the maturation of the limbic system and the midbrain, thereby enhancing behavioral control ability to some extent.
