Question

My baby has been tested positive for antibodies, but has also received the hepatitis B vaccine. Experts, what effects might this have? What should be done?

Answer

There is no need to receive the third dose of the hepatitis B vaccine. After the first injection of the hepatitis B vaccine, about 30% of people will produce surface antibodies; after the second injection, approximately 50-70% will produce surface antibodies; and after the third injection, about 90% will produce surface antibodies. Therefore, a retest for hepatitis B surface antibodies can be conducted one month after vaccination. If the HBsAb test result is positive, it indicates that the child’s body has developed the ability to combat hepatitis B virus, effectively preventing infection with the hepatitis B virus.
