Why do neonates die after resuscitation from asphyxia? How should we handle baby asphyxia situations? What measures should be taken during the resuscitation process? Can asphyxia leave any complications? What factors may cause neonatal asphyxia? What are the main symptoms of baby asphyxia?

Answers

Neonatal asphyxia refers to a condition where a fetus experiences distress in the uterus or during the birthing process, or fails to breathe naturally or establish normal breathing within the first minute after birth. The main pathophysiological changes include hypoxemia, hypercapnia, and acidosis, which are essentially the essence of asphyxia, i.e., hypoxia. Various factors affecting placental or pulmonary gas exchange can lead to asphyxia, which may occur during pregnancy but is more common after delivery. Neonatal asphyxia is often a continuation of fetal asphyxia (intrauterine distress).
