Question
My baby is one week old now, and I feel like they are soft all over and can’t lift their head either. They respond to sounds and seem particularly cute. At what age do babies typically start to lift their heads?
Answer
Babies are unable to lift their heads at birth, but as they grow older, they can start to lift their heads while lying on the bed at around two or three months. However, some babies may be a bit later in learning to lift their heads, usually before six months old. There’s no need to worry too much. When training your baby to lift their head, be sure to pay attention not to block their nose and mouth, as this could lead to suffocation.
