Question

How should ischemic hypoxic encephalopathy be treated? The patient is currently living normally with no obvious abnormal reactions. Is it possible to avoid infusion treatment?

Answer

For the treatment of ischemic hypoxic encephalopathy, it is recommended to adopt hyperbaric oxygen therapy combined with neuraminic acid infusion for three courses. Changes in CT imaging may not always correspond completely with the degree of brain cell damage, and the severity of the patient’s symptoms is directly related to the extent of brain injury. If seizures, respiratory depression, or other symptoms occur, it indicates a more severe brain injury. Dehydration therapy is used to reduce brain edema resulting from ischemic hypoxia in brain tissue, thereby reducing secondary damage to brain cells.
