Question
A colleague’s son is only 4 years old and unfortunately has Down Syndrome. I want to know how to treat it effectively?
Answer
Down Syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21, is a type of chromosomal disorder that often results in high rates of intellectual disability in infants. The most effective method is to undergo amniocentesis to determine if Down Syndrome is present. If diagnosed with Down Syndrome, it is not recommended to undergo amniocentesis. Down Syndrome is a very serious condition that cannot be cured completely. Currently, rehabilitation training can only help improve the child’s quality of life.
