Question

My child, a 1-year-old 7-month-old boy, has medulloblastoma. He is now experiencing vomiting, weakness in his right arm and leg, eats very little, and today I noticed his urine is very cloudy. In this situation, how long can the child possibly live?

Answer

Medulloblastoma is the most malignant glioma in the brain. The 5-year survival rate for pediatric medulloblastoma is 50% to 60%. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy after radiotherapy can improve survival rates, but they are still below 50%. Medulloblastoma may be regional, single metastasis, or spread. The prognosis after recurrence is very serious. Second-line chemotherapy can sometimes partially or completely resolve the problem, but it is usually rare. It is recommended to seek treatment at a better hospital because better hospitals typically provide better medical resources and professional knowledge.
