Question

Dear doctor: Why has my baby been frequently vomiting lately? Even with a small amount of feeding, vomiting still occurs. Does this mean there is a problem with the baby’s stomach?

Answer

Vomiting in infants is a common occurrence. Here are some relief methods: Firstly, when feeding, raise the baby’s head by 30 to 45 degrees. After feeding, immediately gently pat the baby’s back until they burp. After burping, do not immediately place the baby flat; instead, keep them upright for about 10 minutes. If the baby is being fed formula milk, ensure that the nipple is fully filled with milk before feeding to reduce the amount of air the baby inhales, thereby avoiding vomiting.
