Question
My baby was born recently, and upon birth, his entire body turned yellow. I asked the doctor, and they said it’s a normal phenomenon. However, after several days, the jaundice hasn’t disappeared, so I want to know what symptoms neonatal jaundice has?
Answer
Neonatal jaundice may present with symptoms such as drowsiness, lack of strength in breastfeeding, or suffocation. Generally, physiological jaundice only affects the face. Pathological jaundice, on the other hand, can affect the limbs and trunk as well. If the baby’s jaundice does not fade for a long time, it is likely pathological jaundice, and it is best to go to the hospital for blue light therapy.
