Question
A patient is experiencing blisters on their feet, unable to understand the cause and related advice.
Answer
Oral mucosa shows scattered vesicles, similar in size to grains of rice, with significant pain; vesicles of similar size may also appear on the palms or soles of the feet. Sometimes, the buttocks or knees may be affected as well. The vesicles are surrounded by redness, but there is less fluid inside. Some children may also experience symptoms such as coughing, runny nose, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and headache. This condition is usually self-limiting, with a good prognosis and no sequelae. In rare cases, it may cause severe complications such as meningitis, encephalitis, myocarditis, flaccid paralysis, and pulmonary edema. It is recommended that patients and their families closely monitor the condition, ensure adequate rest and intake of a balanced diet. If symptoms worsen or other discomforts occur, it is advised to seek medical attention promptly.
