Question
Why do children get rhinitis?
Answer
The incidence of rhinitis in children is gradually increasing and showing a trend of young age and rapid onset. The causes of children’s rhinitis may include the following points:
- Nasal Diseases: Long-term suffering from certain nasal diseases, such as deviated nasal septum, hypertrophic middle turbinate, nasal polyps, allergic rhinitis, and nasal foreign bodies, may lead to the occurrence of rhinitis.
- Allergic Constitution: Most cases of children’s rhinitis are allergic rhinitis, and allergic constitution is the main cause of allergic rhinitis. Common allergens include inhaled allergens and ingested allergens.
- Decreased Body Resistance: Conditions such as excessive fatigue, cold, dampness, and malnutrition that lead to colds may turn into rhinitis if they do not heal after one week of treatment.
