Question

What are the symptoms of cerebral palsy in children?

Answer

Cerebral palsy is a non-progressive brain injury characterized by abnormal movement and intelligence. Common symptoms of cerebral palsy in children include a stiff posture, softening of the head and neck, inability to lift the head, and protruding limbs. Other symptoms may include developmental delays, learning to lift the head, sit up, and use hands later than same age children; poor feeding, difficulties with sucking and swallowing, the tongue often pushing milk and food out, and difficulty closing the mouth; possible situations such as crying, irritability, poor sleep, or being very quiet, excessive sleep, or not smiling within the first three months. If your child exhibits any of these symptoms, it is recommended to visit a regular hospital for examination and receive appropriate treatment as advised by the doctor.
