Question
During childbirth, there was some turbidity in the amniotic fluid, and the doctor suggested a cesarean section, but her mother disagreed and gave birth naturally. The baby was born with the whole body purple and stayed in the incubator for over a week. Now, at three and a half months old, the baby is still very soft and we all suspect it might be cerebral palsy.
Answer
Early symptoms of cerebral palsy may not be obvious, but attention should be paid to muscle tone and developmental delays. For instance, a three-month-old baby may not be able to lift their head or chest; at four months, they still hold their fists; by six to seven months, they cannot stand; and by eight to nine months, they cannot crawl. Additionally, there may be some stiffness in the muscles and the head may tilt. It is recommended to undergo relevant examinations for a definitive diagnosis.
