Question

My baby was bitten by a dog yesterday and didn’t bleed. Today, we got the rabies vaccine. Now the baby has a fever. Can I give them some nimesulide granules?

Answer

I wouldn’t recommend using nimesulide for fever reduction. The rabies vaccine contains a small amount of virus, which can trigger a slight fever as a normal response. Generally, there will be a low-grade fever two days after vaccination, and the body temperature will return to normal afterwards. If the body temperature rises, you can take fever-reducing medication as needed, avoid stimulating foods and drinks, and also avoid strenuous exercise.
