Question

My child is three months old and has had diarrhea for nearly a month. I’ve been to many places and taken many medications, but there has been no improvement. Initially, the stool contained milk residue and water, then the milk residue stopped, and now it’s back again. What should I do now?

Answer

Children’s digestive systems are not fully developed and are prone to gastrointestinal diseases. There are no specific treatment drugs; medication should not be used, especially adult medications which can have significant side effects on children, some of which may be irreversible. There’s no need to handle it while sleeping. The diarrhea has lasted a long time, and I’ve taken many medications. It’s possible to rule out bacterial infection. Have you changed the formula you’re feeding your child for diarrhea?
