Question

At the age of 100 days, I tried to teach my child to walk, but was unsuccessful. As the child grows older, they still cannot walk. The hospital diagnosis confirmed it as cerebral palsy, but no treatment has been received yet.

Answer

The causes of cerebral palsy are diverse, with prenatal factors being the most common. Perinatal factors refer to brain damage occurring within one week after birth, such as hydrocephalus, neonatal shock, intracranial hemorrhage, sepsis, or central nervous system infection, anemia, and hypoxic encephalopathy. Although preterm birth and intrauterine growth restriction are not direct causes, they are important risk factors. Intrauterine inflammation or chorioamnionitis is also considered a potential risk factor. Currently, the child’s condition requires hospital treatment to achieve a good recovery outcome.
