Question
How should Down Syndrome be treated effectively?
Answer
Down Syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21 or mongolism, is a condition caused by chromosomal abnormalities. Children with this condition often exhibit significant intellectual disability, distinctive facial features, growth and development delays, and multiple malformations. Currently, there is no cure for this condition worldwide. The main approach is to address the child’s low immunity and prevent infections. If the child has congenital heart disease, gastrointestinal issues, or other malformations, surgical correction may be considered.
