Question

A friend’s son is now 4 years old. He was a cute baby at birth, but he was much slower in learning to speak and walk compared to other children, and seemed abnormal. After going to the hospital for a check-up, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. I want to know what causes pediatric cerebral palsy?

Answer

The early symptoms of pediatric cerebral palsy may not be very obvious within the first few months after birth, but as gross and fine motor skills develop, symptoms may gradually become apparent. By around 4 months, an infant should start to roll over. If they haven’t been able to roll over by 6 months, further examination may be needed.
