Question
My child has been developing slowly and looks a bit unusual physically. They have been diagnosed with Down syndrome. I’m not very familiar with this condition and don’t know what specific dangers it poses. What are the dangers of Down syndrome?
Answer
Down syndrome, also known as Down syndrome or trisomy 21, is the most common congenital malformation in children caused by chromosomal abnormalities. There is currently no effective treatment method, so long-term education and training are crucial for improving the functional abilities of affected children. Preventing infections and other related infectious diseases, and early use of oral supplements such as vitamin B6, r-tyrosine, and folic acid may help improve the child’s functioning. For other malformations associated with Down syndrome, surgical correction can be considered.
