Question

Is it shy for a 10-month-old baby to cry when seeing strangers? Are there any good ways to deal with it? Can it be cured? Please give me some advice from a doctor.

Answer

Crying at strangers is not necessarily a sign of shyness in children and could be due to their personality. There’s no need to worry too much. If a child has little contact with strangers, feeling afraid of them is a normal case of timidity. You can take your child out more often to interact with others, gradually adapting to unfamiliar environments and people. This will help the baby overcome the fear and become braver and more outgoing!
