Question

I discovered I might have a hemangioma during my last hospital check-up. Will hemangiomas disappear on their own?

Answer

Small hemangiomas can theoretically disappear on their own, but special circumstances cannot be ruled out. Liver hemangiomas are benign tumors of the liver. Most small hemangiomas are asymptomatic, while large hemangiomas may cause swelling and pain in the liver area. For patients with a diameter less than 5 millimeters and no symptoms, treatment is not necessary. It is usually recommended to avoid strenuous exercise to prevent the hemangioma from rupturing and to undergo regular checks and follow-ups. If the hemangioma diameter is greater than 5 millimeters, interventional treatment is suggested, which is a minimally invasive surgery with quick recovery and good results.
