Question
My child has some constipation. What are the solutions to newborn constipation, and how should I care for them?
Answer
Whether your child is able to defecate voluntarily or not, you can dilute some formula milk and consume probiotics to regulate the intestinal flora. If defecation remains difficult, you can use KaoSai Lu (a type of laxative) or soap to help with defecation. If there are obvious digestive tract problems and digestive tract malformations, constipation and difficulty in defecation may also occur. The most common situation is congenital megacolon in newborns, which causes the bowel function to fail to move stool in a timely manner for a period of time, leading to constipation.
