Question

My daughter is a preterm baby and she is now five months old. I am preparing to give her formula milk. What kind of formula should preterm babies consume after reaching standards?

Answer

Although it’s a bit early, once the treatment reaches standards, the diet can be the same as that of normal children. After preterm babies reach standards, they should consume regular formula. They should initially drink preterm formula and then switch to regular formula as the baby’s body condition recovers. When replacing preterm formula with regular formula, the ratio of old formula to new formula should be 3:7 for the baby, 5:5, and then 7:3, without any adverse reactions, until the preterm formula is completely replaced by regular formula.
