Question

I’m nine months pregnant, and the doctor told me that my child might weigh 9 jin. If I insist on choosing a natural birth, will there be a great risk?

Answer

If the fetus weighs more than 4 kilograms, the risk does significantly increase. It is generally recommended to consider a cesarean section, as the head of a large baby is relatively larger and may not fit through the pelvis, necessitating a cesarean section. If the baby is very overweight, it may not be able to pass through the pelvis at all, requiring tremendous effort to deliver, and may ultimately need assistance from instruments. Additionally, if the baby has a particularly wide and fatty shoulder area, it may lead to shoulder dystocia.
