Question
My friend often has to go out for business dinners, where drinking, smoking, and overeating are unavoidable. Recently, they’ve been stuttering, and I’m afraid it might be childhood stuttering. How should I deal with it?
Answer
This is not a disease; in fact, adults may also experience stuttering. You can train them to speak slowly by practicing with them, such as reading books together with your child, reading slowly to let the child follow along. Over time, this not only increases the child’s knowledge but also slows down their speaking speed. Wishing you the best of luck in achieving your wishes and that the child grows up healthy. Stuttering has been a part of human language use since its inception. One could say that stuttering is a part of society. When people mention stammering, they know what it means, but they do not understand the essence or development patterns of stuttering. Because the patterns of stuttering are exactly opposite to those of other things; conventional methods may actually worsen the stuttering, leading to further difficulties.
