Question
Hello. My child has developed pediatric constipation. I’ve heard that it can be treated with massage and acupressure. Could you please explain how to perform massage and acupressure for pediatric constipation?
Answer
Place the child in a supine position and perform clockwise massage on the abdomen for five minutes, which is beneficial for promoting defecation and strengthening the spleen and stomach; then, have the child lie prone and push down on the seven bones from the level of the fourth lumbar vertebra to the coccyx, until the skin turns red; there is a large intestine point on the outer edge of the index finger, during the massage, push from the thumb crease to the tip of the finger, it is recommended to push one hundred to two hundred times, which can treat symptoms such as indigestion and constipation.
