Question
My baby is almost nine months old and used to have a bowel movement once a day. Suddenly, they are having many bowel movements these days and it doesn’t seem like diarrhea. I don’t know what the cause is? What should I do?
Answer
This condition may be caused by enteritis or indigestion, possibly related to the child’s intestinal dysfunction, poor eating habits, or a cold. Check the stool regularly. Pay attention to warmth and avoid catching a cold. Do not consume raw or difficult-to-digest foods. You can give your baby pediatric tonics, Montmorillonite powder, or probiotics. Observe if there is abdominal pain and distension. If diarrhea occurs frequently, it’s best to take some fluids or oral rehydration salts.
