Question
My son is just two months old. Yesterday, while changing his diapers, I noticed his bottom was a bit yellow. My mother-in-law said it’s jaundice. I would like to ask, can a newborn’s bottom turn yellow with jaundice?
Answer
Hello. Jaundice is mainly observed in the white part of the eyes. This is more accurate. If the whites of the eyes are jaundiced, and if they are not, I suggest you observe your child’s whites of the eyes. If they turn yellow, you should see a doctor and test the bilirubin levels. Then, treatment can be administered specifically based on the situation. If they are not yellow, there’s no need to worry. In the meantime, always keep an eye on your child’s physical characteristics.
