Question

How should one handle a burn?

Answer

Burn blisters should be punctured to prevent infection and to ensure proper absorption of the medication. Small blisters can be punctured with a sterilized needle, allowing the fluid to drain; large blisters can be opened with a sterilized pair of scissors, and the fluid should be drained. After puncturing the blisters, do not cut off the skin covering, nor should you pull it off with your hands. The skin covering helps protect the wound, preventing infection and inflammation.
