Question
At three months pregnant, a woman is particularly concerned about children with neural tube defects. Is it possible for such children to receive compensation?
Answer
Neural tube defects are severe congenital malformations caused by incomplete embryonic development. During the 15th to 17th day of embryonic development, the neural tube begins to form, and by the 22nd day of embryonic development, the neural folds on either side begin to fuse together, forming a tube, the neural tube. The disease has an incidence rate of 2.74 per thousand in the country, and is more common in northern regions, rural areas, and children born during autumn and winter. Once diagnosed, pregnancy should be terminated as soon as possible, as there are currently no remedial methods available for compensation.
